The members of the Remanufacturing Industries Council, Inc. (RIC) represent a wide range of remanufacturing sectors, trade associations, and academic institutions. RIC serves as a forum for education, idea exchange, and advancement of the remanufacturing industry.
RIC members, guests, and all participants in RIC meetings are required to comply strictly with U.S. antitrust laws.
This policy prohibits any discussions that constitute or imply an agreement or understanding concerning:
- Prices, discounts, or terms and conditions of sale for goods or services, including cores, inputs, and finished products
- Profits, profit margins, or cost data
- Market shares, sales territories, or markets
- Allocation of customers or territories
- Selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers
- Restrictions on where a company may resell products
- Restrictions on the customers to whom a company may sell
- Any matter inconsistent with each company exercising independent business judgment
Each remanufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor must exercise independent business judgment in pricing, customer and supplier relationships, and market participation.
To support compliance with antitrust and nonprofit laws, all meetings must follow a written agenda distributed in advance, and minutes must be recorded. These requirements apply to in-person and virtual meetings.
All RIC employees and members will receive this Policy and must acknowledge in writing that they have read and understand it (see attached Signature Form). The Policy will also be provided to all participants at RIC-sponsored meetings and conferences.
Nothing in this Policy or in antitrust laws prevents RIC and its members from jointly presenting industry concerns to federal, state, or regulatory authorities to seek appropriate legal relief.
